This made me feel deeply rooted where I am and also part of something bigger and deeper than I've ever really imagined. Perspective in the truest sense - Thank you 🙏
Your words are lovely. It feels like the collective is returning to ritual again while simultaneously separating from ourselves. Plants remind us who we are in a wider timeline.
This is really beautiful .. I relish the feeling of the call to craft something yummy with a plant that just ‘seems’ to pop up into your awareness.. or you specially notice it on a walk .. and it feels like this shared reaching to one another, a longing to co-create magick or sorts!
I've started getting called to specific plants and flowers a lot in the past few months! And you've truly inspired me to dig deeper than what I do, and take note of my findings...and reciples that come through in those times❤️
I’ve always loved magnolias since my childhood in Texas. My great grandmother had a tree in her backyard that my aunt still cares for today. I think I recently learned the dinosaur cohabitation fact from my 4 year old, who heard it on his daily kid podcast 🥹. The heart of awe is where I’d like to try to live for a while!
Thought about this article today — especially the syrup section — as the magnolias fell from their trees here in Seattle. 💜 We even have a neighborhood called Magnolia! 💜
I just ran across a bowl of free laurel (bay leaves) at a neighbor’s, so my witchy Scorpio kitchen is a smidge busy. 🍃 I also made strawberry rhubarb popsicles this week — with honey, not cane sugar. April abundance! 🍓
Magnolias are one of my favorite seasonal forages! I also made syrup this year, for use in sugar cookies :) and vinegar from Marie Viljoen’s recipe. And I throw the fresh ones in salads for the few weeks a year we get them 🌸

Professor Smith played a few of those records at a round table panel at The Brick in LA, with Jason Moran, last month. I’m so happy I went
No way! Incredible - wish I’d been there
